Back to practice.

Help with your routine, Pro, click detection and the settings that keep you in control.

Where should I start?

Choose a drill from Today for your discipline, complete your safety checks, then follow the guided cues. Use Rep done to count each repetition manually. At the end, rate the session and review it in Log. For safe preparation and a suggested first routine, read our beginner’s dry-fire guide. More experienced athletes can explore the training guides for pistol and rifle.

What is free, and what does Pro unlock?

Guided manual practice, basic stats, streaks and the seven most recent sessions are free. Dryfire Pro is a one-time purchase for full history, advanced statistics, repetition timing details, voice cues, and optional microphone click detection with calibration.

The App Store shows the current price in your region. There is no subscription.

How do I restore my Pro purchase?

Open Profile → Dryfire Pro → Restore purchase. Use the same Apple Account that made the purchase and make sure you have an internet connection. If Pro still does not unlock, contact support with the app version and any error shown. Never send your Apple Account password.

How does click detection work?

Pro can use the iPhone microphone to detect supported dry-fire clicks during a session. Enable click detection in Profile and allow microphone access when iOS asks. Choose a suitable click profile or use the calibration tools for your setup.

Equipment, phone placement and background noise affect detection. If clicks are missed or extra repetitions appear, recalibrate in your practice environment or use manual counting. The app does not measure target accuracy, use laser targets or connect to external training hardware.

Audio is processed on your device and is not sent to a server. If microphone access was denied, you can change it in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.

Can I practise without the microphone?

Yes. Manual counting is free and does not need microphone access. You can turn click detection off and use Rep done during a session.

Where is my history stored?

Sessions, ratings, timing records, preferences and click profiles are stored locally on your iPhone. There is no app account or server sync. Pro unlocks access to history beyond the latest seven sessions.

Deleting the app removes its local data according to normal iOS behaviour. Reinstalling starts fresh unless iOS restores data from a backup. Restoring a Pro purchase does not restore training history.

How do reminders work?

Enable the daily reminder in Profile and allow notifications when iOS asks. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. You can change the time or turn reminders off in the app, and manage notification permission in iOS Settings.

Are analytics optional?

Yes. The app asks before enabling TelemetryDeck usage analytics and Meta app-event measurement for app-install advertising. Change the Analytics and ad measurement setting in Profile (called Anonymous analytics in older versions) at any time.

In the updated version 1.2 build, Meta ad measurement requires Apple’s tracking permission as well as app analytics consent. Declining tracking keeps Meta measurement off; optional TelemetryDeck analytics can still operate. See the privacy policy for the data involved and your controls.

How do I report an inappropriate advertisement?

In the updated version 1.2 build, tap Report ad beside the banner, or open Profile → Report an ad. Describe the advertisement and review the email before sending. If Mail is not configured, copy the report and send it using your preferred email service.

You can also email morten@teinum.no. Include the advertiser, when you saw the ad and what concerned you. We investigate reports and use AdMob’s review controls to report or block inappropriate ads. Do not include personal training data.

How do ads and ad privacy choices work?

In versions with Google AdMob, free users can see banner ads on the main tabs, outside training sessions. Dryfire Pro removes these ads. The app requests non-personalised ads and presents an ad consent message where required.

When available, open Ad privacy options in Profile to review or change your consent. This is separate from optional analytics; switching off analytics does not remove ads or change your ad consent. See the advertising privacy details.

What safety rules should I follow?

Before every session, point in a safe direction, confirm the firearm, airgun or training device is unloaded, remove live ammunition from the area, and use a safe, dedicated practice space. Follow your equipment manufacturer’s guidance and your club, range, competition and local safety rules.

The app cannot inspect your equipment or surroundings. Its safety acknowledgement and training cues do not replace responsible handling or qualified instruction.

Which devices are supported?

Dry Fire Practice is made for iPhone. Check the App Store listing for the current released version’s iOS requirements and availability. This website previews the Precision Athlete redesign; the released appearance may differ.

Version 1.2 also previews layouts for iPhone Duo. Open the device for two-column views: repetitions beside technique, Today beside the drill library, and the log beside session details. Close it for a compact view. Large accessibility text sizes use a scrollable single column. Detailed statistics and click detection still require Dryfire Pro. See the open and closed Duo preview.
